Local Interagency Coordinating Council
Community Engagement Groups are a neutral organization of agencies and families that work together to identify problems in their communities, provide grass roots outreach, and act as a conduit of information providing the community at large with information about childhood outcomes and services. Local Interagency Coordinating Councils, or LICC, are considered integral parts of Community Engagement Groups. LICCs work in concert with families, providers, and other interested people in sustaining and enhancing Early Intervention Services and supports to infants and preschool children with developmental needs.
Representation may be from families, county administration, intermediate units, school districts, early intervention providers, Head Start, service coordinators, health agencies, and other community members. While each LICC is different, their overall goal is to enhance local early intervention services and supports through collaboration.
