Child Care Information Services Agency
Child Care Information Services (CCIS) agencies are the hub of child care information in your local area. CCIS agencies provide you and your family with information on quality child care and personalized child care referrals to child care providers based on your specific needs or preferences. CCIS agencies also administer the Child Care Works subsidized child care program. CCIS provides the following services (all CCIS services are free for everyone):

Information – Your local CCIS can provide you with information on quality child care services in your area including who participates in Keystone STARS, Subsidized Services, offers Pre-School, Pre-K Counts, and more.

Resource & Referral - CCIS helps families with free assistance in locating child care facilities that meet their child care needs, in making good child care choices through the provision of material and counseling. Using a statewide database that contains regulated center and home-base child care providers, a resource referral specialist can help a family find services anywhere in Pennsylvania.

Child Care Subsidy/Child Care Works - The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and county CCIS agencies provide funding to assist qualifying families meet their child care expenses. CCIS is responsible for determining family eligibility for child care subsidy, establishing agreements with child care service providers, and for making vendor payments to providers on behalf of eligible families.
