FY 11-12 Request for Proposals from Professional Development Organizations

FY 11-12 Non-Credit RFP 

The Northwest Regional Key is in the process of generating needs-based professional development (PD) events for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. These professional development events will focus on the early childhood professionals in 18 counties of Northwest Pennsylvania. As we begin to look forward into the next fiscal year, we would like to propose funding to your organization contingent upon the Governor’s budget passing and funds received by the Northwest Regional Key.

In order to be eligible as a Professional Development Organization (PDO) there is certain criteria that must be met for each event that your organization conducts. 

  1. The PD event must be conducted by a certified Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System (PQAS) instructor or your organization must hold a current Organizational PQAS certification. 
  2. PD Events must be a minimum of 2-hours in length and not to exceed 6-hours per day. PD Events can occur in a series style (ie. more than one session or part per course). 
  3. The Contractor will develop and host professional development opportunities consistent with the competencies in the Pennsylvania Core Body of Knowledge core knowledge areas;

            A. The Contractor will conduct professional development opportunities on the following content:

        B. The Contractor will collaborate with Early Intervention organizations in the catchment area to offer high-quality professional development on topics related to Early Intervention. 
    
Below is the Request for Proposal (RFP) to be completed if your organization is interested in providing
non-credit bearing professional development trainings to Early Childhood Education practitioners with the Northwest Regional Key in 2011-2012. This document contains all of the expectations of an organization in providing professional development events contracted through the OCDEL, PA Key, and NWRK. The NWRK is conducting a Professional Development Organization meeting on Friday, March 11, 2011 in Strattanville where the proposals can also be collected. If interested in attending this event, please RSVP to Jennifer Vargo at jenniferv@nwir.org or (800) 860-2281 x 128.
